Heavy Vehicle Service Technician, Ashland, VA

Vehicles Service Technicians play a critical role in the Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems organization.

Our technicians are responsible for:

  • Reading and understand operations manuals.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating parts
  • Diagnose and identify malfunctions, using computerized tools and equipment
  • Inspect, repair, and replace defective or worn parts, such as bearings, pistons, and gears
  • Overhaul and test major components, such as engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • Disassemble and reassemble heavy equipment and components
  • Traveling to work sites to repair large equipment.
  • Must have own tools, we provide some shop tools: welders, grinders and torches.

CDL Class B and State Inspector is required

Compactor Service Technicians, Pittsburgh, PA

Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems is a leading distributor to top quality waste and recycling equipment; seeking a career minded, self-motivated individual that is energetic and has a general knowledge of hydraulics, vehicle electrical operations, and welding fabrication.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. The employee is required to perform inspections, conduct diagnostic tests, preventative maintenance, and repairs on various types of compactors, balers, and other stationary equipment.
  2. Read electrical schematics. Diagnose and repair electrical problems on equipment using both single and three phase AC voltage — including working with hi-voltage electricity.
  3. Read hydraulic schematics. Must have the ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic issues on equipment.
  4. Welding and fabrication work as needed.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Driver’s license, CDL PREFERRED

PERFORMANCE SKILLS/NOTES:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Professional Growth

Mechanic Experience Required:

  • 2 years Graduate of a technical school, military school, or relevant working experience acceptable to the company.
  • Hydraulic and Electrical experience preferred but not required.

This position is responsible for:

Performing a variety of duties related to the repair of bodies and trucks with the focus on inspecting, diagnosing and repairing electrical components, hoist mounts, hydraulic components, tires, and welding fabrications.

A successful candidate will have their own necessary tools and transportation.

This is a Monday – Friday position with immediate openings.
