MG 220 VZT

Wire Granulator

Because of its superior conductivity and durability, copper has been the metal of choice for many purposes throughout history. Over a century ago, copper became the most effective element for electrical components. This remains true today and for the foreseeable future.

As a result, there is a continual supply of discarded electrical wiring and cable from equipment upgrades, building demolitions, junked vehicles, electric motors and many other sources. Copper is a valuable commodity and recycling can be a profitable endeavor when the best processing equipment is used.

MG 220 VZT

The MG 220 VZT is a mid-sized granulator designed for the granulation, separation and recovery of copper or aluminum components from a wide range of discarded electrical components including cable, electric wire, circuit boards and other electronic equipment. The MG 220 VZT is designed to efficiently process 1100 to 1300 pounds per hour of scrap material. The result is 99.9% purity of recovered copper or aluminum.

Mid-Atlantic Waste and MG Recycling

Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems, a leading North American company specializing in managing the collection, processing and recycling and disposal of all genres of waste material, has chosen MG Recycling to be a strategic partner in processing recyclable metals. MG Recycling, a global leader in manufacturing equipment for recycling electrical components, produces a wide range of granulators to separate valuable copper and aluminum from discarded cable, wiring and other formats. Each model of MG equipment has a different capacity and, in some cases, somewhat different specialties.

The MG 220 VZT equipment is reliable, durable and very easy to maintain.

Pre-Shredding, Granulation and Separation Processes

Utilizing MG’s patented Zig Zag-Turbo process, the MG 220 VZT automatically separates thicker, more rigid material from smaller filament and fine wire. The 220 VZT reduces all of the material to granular form before separating the valuable re-useable metal components from the discarded harness, coating and insulation materials. The separation process is achieved by air flow, separating materials of different specific weights.

Recycled copper in granular form has a higher value than unprocessed copper material.

If the load of discarded cable and wiring material to be processed is variable in mass, format or insulation type, a Tritronic Pre-Shredder is an essential accessory. This equipment facilitates the process by stripping the material to a more homogenous form for easier granulation by the MG 220 VZT.

The MG 220 VZT is surprisingly quiet with soundproofing components built into the machine structure.

Selecting the Right Equipment

Since the volume capacities of each granulator vary, a Mid-Atlantic Waste expert can assist in selecting the exact equipment to match your projected raw material flow, available space and any other variables that may affect your efficiency. Too much capacity will result in a reduction in efficiency and a slower return on your capital investment. Under capacity may result in machine overload, additional maintenance expenses and eventually an accumulating pile of discarded electrical components.

If your raw supply of discarded materials begins to pile up because your existing equipment cannot keep up, trading up for a higher capacity MG product may be the answer.

Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems experts will always work with you to arrive at the most economical and profitable solutions.
